Action Arts

Action Arts is a drama-based literacy development organisation which aims to develop students' oral and literacy skills in National Curriculum subjects.

These practical drama-based workshops are particularly tailored to the needs of KS3, 4,&5 students and Further Education Colleges.

 

All abilities are catered for, especially those in Learning Support Units.

 

Also offered are plays with historical or Greek themes, performed in a studio-style arrangement in school halls and classrooms by Mary Carr, who writes and performs the plays acting all the characters in costume.

Action Arts provides:

 

Inset training in drama teaching for teachers in English/ Drama departments and workshops at all ability levels for KS3, 4, &5  in:

Drama/Theatre Studies, (including  the enhancement of performance skills for Theatre Studies students)

Mary Carr is a drama specialist  trained in secondary education at Bretton Hall. Since graduating she has worked as a school-teacher, Youth Theatre director, director of drama and arts projects for students with disabilities and adult education tutor.

Since 2000 her work has included the writing and performing of plays acting all the characters herself.

A member of The Writers' Guild of Great Britain and Equity.

Enhanced CRB certificate.
